Live Learning Sessions

Learn Web3 From Practitioners Building Real Systems

Our webinar instructors aren't just teachers. They're developers who spend their days working on decentralized applications, smart contracts, and distributed systems. Every session connects theory to what's actually happening in production environments.

Why Our Format Works

Small Groups, Direct Access

We cap sessions at 18 participants because meaningful learning happens through conversation, not lecture halls. Ask questions when concepts don't click. Share your screen when debugging gets tricky. Get feedback on your approach before you build something the wrong way.

Meet Your Instructors

People Who Build What They Teach

Both instructors maintain active development roles while teaching. When they explain consensus mechanisms or gas optimization, they're drawing from projects they shipped last quarter—not textbook examples from 2018.

Thorsten Vikander teaching blockchain development concepts

Thorsten Vikander

Smart Contract Architecture

Thorsten moved from traditional backend systems to blockchain in 2021 after getting frustrated with centralized database bottlenecks. He's particularly good at explaining why certain patterns exist in Solidity—what problems they solve and where they break down. His sessions tend to include live code reviews of student projects.

Elara Johansdottir explaining decentralized application architecture

Elara Johansdottir

Decentralized Systems Design

Before Web3, Elara built distributed systems for supply chain tracking. She brings a practical perspective to topics like IPFS integration and state management across nodes. Her webinars focus less on syntax and more on architectural decisions—when to decentralize and when not to.

Upcoming Sessions Through September 2025

We run two types of webinars. Fundamentals sessions cover core concepts for people new to decentralized systems. Advanced workshops dive into specific technical challenges—perfect when you're stuck on a particular implementation problem.

All sessions include access to recordings and a shared repository where participants can review code examples afterward. Most people find the live Q&A portions most valuable, though.

Smart Contract Security: Common Vulnerabilities

Thorsten walks through real exploits from 2024 audits. We'll look at reentrancy attacks, integer overflows, and access control failures—then refactor vulnerable code together. Bring questions about your own contracts if you're working on something.

Building Your First dApp: Frontend to Blockchain

Elara covers the full stack for a simple decentralized application. We'll connect a React frontend to an Ethereum testnet, handle wallet integration, and manage transaction states. Good starting point if you're comfortable with JavaScript but new to Web3 development.

Decentralized Storage Patterns with IPFS

When should you store data on-chain versus IPFS? Elara compares approaches for different use cases, shows how to pin content reliably, and demonstrates integration with smart contracts. We'll also troubleshoot common issues with content addressing and gateway timeouts.

Gas Optimization Techniques That Actually Matter

Thorsten focuses on optimization strategies that make a meaningful difference in transaction costs. We'll profile contracts, identify expensive operations, and refactor for efficiency. Includes before-and-after comparisons from production systems he's worked on.
